Battery disposal
Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description
Pentacon Praktica MTL 5 B 35mm SLR Camera, Body (M42) – defective
Condition and Limitations
Condition: Defective.
The item is offered as defective. Regular use is not guaranteed; please take this into account when making your purchase decision.
This analog SLR camera has technical defects and is no longer functional.
One or more functions are not available (for example, no shutter release, blocked shutter, defective mechanics).
It is therefore not functional and is expressly offered as a source of spare parts or for decorative purposes.
The following functions describe the model concept in a fully functional device. For this offer, the above-mentioned defects take precedence.
Model and Requirements
The Praktica MTL5B is an analog SLR camera for 35mm film with the 24 × 36 mm image format. Its appeal lies in the direct workflow: focus, aperture, and exposure time are selected manually. If you want to understand why a shot appears bright, dark, motion-oriented, or spatially sharp, this concept makes the individual decisions visible.
The metal-slat focal-plane shutter is designed for exposure times from 1 second to 1/1000 second and the B setting. B is for longer exposures, the duration of which you determine yourself. For the light metering system, the manual specifies an SR44 or LR44. The selection of exposure values is done manually; the meter display depends on its power supply.
The lens mount is M42 × 1. In addition to the thread, the corresponding aperture control of the respective lens is relevant. A similarly looking mount or the brand name Praktica alone is not sufficient for a compatibility guarantee. The model is suitable as a starting point if you are looking for an manageable, manually controlled introduction to analog photography.
