Battery disposal
Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description
Nikon AF Nikkor 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5 Ai-S Zoom Lens (Nikon AF)
Condition and Limitations
Condition: good used condition.
Slight signs of wear on the body are possible (for example, small scratches or scuffs).
A standard zoom for changing framing
The Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 28–85 mm f/3.5–4.5 combines several framing options in one lens. On 35mm film, the range extends from a wide-angle scene to a short telephoto framing for people or details. The maximum aperture of f/3.5–4.5 changes with the focal length. You can therefore easily adjust the framing while keeping in mind the maximum aperture available at each end.
The autofocus motor is located in the compatible camera
This classic AF-Nikkor design is driven by the camera body via the mechanical focus coupling. It does not have an AF-S motor. For a Nikon DSLR without a built-in focus motor, manual focusing therefore remains the primary method. On a suitable camera with the appropriate drive, the intended autofocus can be used.
Correctly reading the model designation
The Nikon manufacturer table lists the specific 28–85/3.5–4.5 as an AF Zoom-Nikkor. The AF version is to be distinguished from a similarly designated manually focused Ai-S lens. The additional Ai-S designation in the article name is therefore not used to claim a purely manual focus version.
Choose exposure and adaptation consciously
First set the focal length for your framing and then check the focus. When planning the exposure, the maximum aperture that changes with zooming counts. For a different system, the adapter solution must also enable the desired focusing and aperture operation in addition to mechanical mounting. A purely mechanical F-to-Z adapter is therefore not equivalent to a universal electronic system transmission.
