What we check

  • Shutter mechanism: fires reliably and resets cleanly
  • Film transport: runs smoothly, does not jam, and winds reliably
  • Light meter, if present
  • Front lens: for scratches, haze, and fungus

What we do not check

  • Film counter
  • Self-timer
  • The detailed mirror mechanism, if present
